THE KARNATAKA (ABOLITION OF CASH GRANTS) ACT, 1967
Karnataka (Abolition of Cash Grants) Act, 1967
General19679 sections
This Act regulates the discontinuation of specific cash grants in the Gulburga area of Karnataka, except those given to religious or charitable institutions for public service. It abolishes these grants as of 1952 and 1954 but mandates compensation for the grantees, ranging from four to six times the annual amount. The law provides for continued payments to elderly, disabled, or minor recipients until they reach a certain age or the institution ceases to exist. This ensures that while the grants are ended, affected individuals receive financial support or the value of their lost income.
