Appointment, powers and duties of Secretary

(1) The Board shall have a Secretary who shall be an officer of the Department of Public Instruction not below the rank of a Deputy Director of Public Instruction, appointed by the State Government.

1. (2) The Secretary shall, subject to the control of the 1[Director]1 exercise such powers and perform such duties as may be prescribed.
2. (3) He shall be entitled to be present at the meetings of the Board but shall not be entitled to vote thereat.
