Cognizance of offences under the Act

Statutory text
(1) No Court inferior to that of a Magistrate of the First class, shall try any offence under this Act and no person shall be prosecuted under this Act except with the pervious sanction of the Government or the officer authorised by the Government. (2) All offences under this Act shall be compoundable.
