Entry of wrong sum in bond, etc., to be an offence
The Karnataka Money-lenders Act, 1961(1) No money-lender shall take any promissory note, acknowledgment, bond or other writing which does not state the actual amount of the loan, or which states such amount wrongly or execute any instrument in which blanks are left to be filled after execution. (2) Whoever contravenes the provisions of sub-section (1) shall, on conviction, be punished with imprisonment which may extend to ten years or with fine which may extend to five lakh or with both. In section 37 of the Principal Act, in sub-section (2),- (a) for the words “six months”, the words “ten years”, shall be substituted; and (b) for the words “one thousand”, the words “five lakh”, shall be substituted.
