This Act provides for the administration of Hindu religious institutions and charitable endowments in Karnataka. It sets up the Commissioner and other officers, who must be Hindus, to supervise temples and endowments. It governs the appointment, qualifications and service conditions of archakas (temple priests), the committees of management of temples, and the management of their funds and property.
