Short title, extent and commencement and application

(1) This Act may be called the Karnataka Ground water (Regulation and Control of Development and Management) Act, 2011.

1. (2) It extends to the whole of the State of Karnataka.
2. (3) It shall come into force on such 1[date] as the State Government may, by notification, appoint and different dates may be appointed for different areas and for different provisions of the Act.

1. (4) The provisions of this Act shall be in addition to and not in derogation of the provisions of any other law for the time being in force relating to protection of public sources of drinking water.
