The Roerich and Devikarani Roerich Estate (Acquisition and Transfer) Act, 1996

Civil199642 sections5 chapters

This law transfers the Roerich and Devikarani Roerich Estate, including land and buildings, to the State Government. It applies to the government, the original owners, and anyone who bought the land after 1991. The main purpose is to take control of the property and remove any old debts or court orders attached to it. However, it protects people who have loans on the property by allowing them to get their money back from specific funds, even though the land now belongs to the state.
