Life span. 17 A lift or escalator installed in the premises shall be replaced by the owner of
the lift or escalator, after the period of twenty years of its installation. Such replacement shall be completed within the twenty-first year of the installation of the lift or escalator, and the owner shall apply for a fresh registration under section 4.
