Applicability

This Act shall be effective from the date of its enforcement on all such marriages where both or one of the parties to the marriage are Indian citizens residing in the State of Jharkhand. This Act applies to all marriages solemnized, on or after the coming into effect of this Act, wherein both or one of the parties is a citizen of India and resides in Jharkhand.
