Measures to be taken in case of a serious epidemic &c.-When it has been ascertained that any serious epidemic is prevalent in the district or in any village requiring special medical attention the Magistrate may there-after direct-

1. (1) the cleaning and conservancy of streets;
2. (2) the cleansing of water courses by burying;
3. (3) the prohibition of the use for drinking purposes, or the closing, of any source of water supply; and
4. (4) the disposal or destruction of materials likely to convey infection.
