Definitions.

In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires––

1. (a) “Act” means the Jammu and Kashmir Prohibition on Manufacture of Specified Copper Utensils (By Machine) Act, 2006 ; 1[(b) “Government” means the Government of the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir ;]
2. (c) “Machine” means and includes any machine which is used for manufacturing the utensils other than the tools used for manufacture of specified copper utensils by hand ;
3. (d) “prescribed” means prescribed by rules made under this Act ;
4. (e) “Prescribed Authority” means an officer appointed as such under section 4 ;
5. (f) “Specified Copper Utensils” means the following copper utensils of any shape and size which are manufactured by hand; namely :––
   • (i) Trami, (ii) Sarposh, (iii) Dunga, (iv) Majma, (v) Plates, (vi) Turu, (vii) Thalbana, (viii) Kanzi, (ix) Nari, (x) Tesht, (xi) Dullo, (xii) Patila, (xiii) Deghas, (xiv) Leizi, (xv) Nuto, (xvi) Pialo, (xvii) Norelota, (xviii) Gurgari, (xix) Isband Soze, (xx) Chaichoncha, (xxi) Pialonoro, (xxii) Samawar, (xxiii) Lemon Set, (xxiv) Chani ;
6. (g) “Special Tribunal” means the Special Tribunal constituted under section 4 of the Jammu and Kashmir Special Tribunal Act, 1988.
