This Act controls the quality of namdhas, the felted woollen rugs made in Kashmir. Manufacturers and dealers must register, and namdhas are given quality marks. A Board oversees quality, and Inspectors can enter and inspect premises. Exporting or selling namdhas that do not meet the standards, or obstructing Inspectors, is punishable.
