(1) This Act may be called the Jammu and Kashmir Migrant Immovable Property (Preservation, Protection and Restraint on Distress Sales) Act, 1997. (2) It extends to the whole of the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. (3) It shall come into force at once.
