Bare Act
The Jammu and Kashmir Juvenile Smoking Act, 1929
General19865 sections
This law protects children and teenagers under the age of sixteen by stopping adults from selling tobacco to them unless a parent or guardian specifically orders it. It also forbids minors from smoking, chewing, or using snuff in any public area and gives government officials, teachers, and magistrates the power to seize and destroy any tobacco found on youths. The Act sets fines for sellers caught violating the rules. Courts can also handle minor offenses through a summary process rather than a full trial.
