Objects

The University shall be deemed to be established and incorporated for the following purposes in respect of the subjects as indicated in column (4) of the Schedule to this Act, namely:- (1) making provision for imparting education in agriculture, horticulture, forestry and other allied branches of learning and scholarship which a University may find necessary to include; (2) furthering the advancement of learning and prosecution of research, both basic and applied; (3) undertaking extension of such sciences, specially to the rural people of the State; and (4) such other purposes as the University may from time to time determine.
