The Provincial Insolvency (Himachal Pradesh Amendment) Act, 1969

This law amends the Provincial Insolvency Act to assist insolvent debtors in Himachal Pradesh who own land. It allows the court to temporarily allot land to the insolvent and their dependent family members to ensure they have enough food and shelter, even while the insolvent's property is being sold to pay off debts. This provision prevents debtors from becoming destitute during the legal process of liquidating their assets. The act also updates the law in areas recently added to the state and repeals an older amendment.
