The Indian Treasure-Trove (Himachal Pradesh Amendment) Act, 1972
General19729 sections
This law amends the rules for finding and keeping treasure specifically within the state of Himachal Pradesh. It allows the government to grant permission to people who want to search for treasure and changes how the treasure is divided if found. The new rules specify that the finder usually gets one-third of the treasure while the government keeps the rest, unless there is a specific agreement. It also provides detailed instructions for the Collector to divide the treasure or sell it if there is a dispute about ownership, replacing the previous authority with the Financial Commissioner.
