Himachal Pradesh (Extension of Laws) Act
The Himachal Pradesh (Extension of Laws) Act, 1969
General196910 sections
The Himachal Pradesh (Extension of Laws) Act, 1969, was enacted to unify the legal framework across the state following the Punjab Re-organisation Act, 1966. When new territories were added to Himachal Pradesh, they were governed by different laws than the rest of the state. This Act bridged that gap by extending specific laws already in force in the "old areas" of Himachal Pradesh to these newly "transferred territories." It also repealed conflicting laws in those new areas to ensure a single, consistent legal system. For citizens, this meant that the same rules, regulations, and administrative standards applied uniformly across the entire state.
