Substitution of section

For section 7 of the principal Act, the following shall be substituted, namely:— “7. Trial of offences.—(1) Notwithstanding anything contained in the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (Act, No. 2 of 1974), no court inferior to that of Judicial Magistrate of first class shall try any offence under this Act.

1. (2) No court shall take cognizance of any offence under section 4-B, except on a police report or complaint made within one year of marriage.”
