Short title, extent, application and commencement

(1) This Act may be called the Himachal Pradesh Maintenance of Parents and Dependants Act, 2001. (2) It extends to the whole of Himachal Pradesh. (3) It shall apply to all persons domiciled in the territories of Himachal Pradesh except Muslims. (4) It shall come into force on such date as the State Government may, by notification, in the Official Gazette, appoint. 1. Passed in Hindi by the Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha.
