Compensation for livestock or birds destroyed.

Compensation may be paid to the owner of livestock or bird if destroyed under section 17, and such compensation shall be determined, in accordance with rules to be made in this behalf, by the Government : Provided that- (i) no compensation shall be paid to any person convicted of any offence punishable under this Act committed in respect of such livestock or bird ; (ii) no compensation shall be paid in respect of any livestock or bird which, when it was brought into Himachal Pradesh, was affected with the disease on account of which it was destroyed.
