This Act gives workers in industrial establishments in Himachal Pradesh paid national and festival holidays and casual and sick leave. Workers are paid wages for these days, and employers must keep an account of holidays and leave. Inspectors enforce the Act and can recover unpaid wages, and obstructing an Inspector or breaking the Act is punishable, though some offences can be compounded.
