Definitions

In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires,- (a) "Academic Council" means the Academic Council of the University; (b) "Board of Management" means the Board of Management of the University; (c) "Chancellor" means the Chancellor of the University; (d) "Department" means a department of study of the University; (e) "employee" means any person appointed by the University and includes teachers and other staff of the University; (f) "Government" means the Government of the State of Haryana; (g) "notification" means a notification published in the Official Gazette; (h) "prescribed" means prescribed by the Statutes; (i) "Statutes" and "Ordinances" mean the Statutes and Ordinances of the University for the time being in force; (j) "teacher" means professors, associate professors, assistant professors and such other persons as may be appointed for imparting instruction or conducting research in the University; (k) "University" means the Haryana Vishwakarma Skill University established under section 3; (l) "Vice-Chancellor" means the Vice-Chancellor of the University.
