This Act sets up the Haryana Urban Development Authority to promote and secure planned development of urban areas in the State. The Authority can acquire land compulsorily, develop it and dispose of it for housing, commercial and other uses. It can impose penalties for breach of conditions of sale and resume or forfeit land. The Act also covers the Authority's constitution, members, meetings, committees and staff.
