Amendment of section 1 of Central Act 37 of 1970 2. In sub-section

1. (4) of section 1 of the Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Act, 1970 (hereinafter called the principal Act), -
   • (i) in clause (a), for the word “twenty”, the word “fifty” shall be substituted; and
   • (ii) in clause (b), for the word “twenty”, the word “fifty” shall be substituted.

3. In sub-section

1. (1) of section 7 of the principal Act,-
   • (i) in the proviso, for the sign “.” existing at the end, the sign “:” shall be substituted; and
   • (ii) after the existing proviso, the following proviso shall be added, namely:- “ Provided further that the appropriate Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, impose such further conditions, as may be deemed necessary, at the time of registration of an establishment or class of establishments for the proper administration of the Act and for prevention of misuse of employment of contract labour.”.
