Bare Act
The Haryana Public Moneys (Recovery of Dues) Act, 1979
This Act simplifies and accelerates the recovery of unpaid loans, grants, and financial assistance provided by the Haryana state government, government corporations, and designated government companies. It applies to defaulting individuals, businesses, and their guarantors who failed to repay funds designated for industrial, agricultural, vocational, or planned development. The law matters because it bypasses lengthy civil court litigations, instead authorizing state officials to swiftly collect outstanding debts as if they were unpaid land revenue. By completely removing the jurisdiction of civil courts over these monetary disputes, the state government ensures that public funds are recovered efficiently to protect its resources.
