The Haryana Law Officers (Engagement) Amendment Act, 2017

General20173 sections1 chapters

The Haryana Law Officers (Engagement) Amendment Act, 2017 modifies the Haryana Law Officers (Engagement) Act, 2016 by allowing extension of engagement terms for Law Officers already appointed before the Act's commencement. Any such officer whose previous term has not yet expired may be granted an extension, but only with approval from a Selection Committee. The Committee must review the officer's performance and conduct by seeking an assessment from the Advocate General. Importantly, the extension is contingent upon the officer meeting the exact same eligibility criteria that apply to officers seeking fresh engagement under the Act.
