1. Short title and extent.

(1) This Act may be called the Haryana Abolition of Whipping Act, 1974. (2) It extends to the whole of the State of Haryana.
2. Abolition of whipping.
Statutory text
The punishment of whipping as provided in any law with respect to any of the matters specified in the State and Concurrent Lists of the Seventh Schedule to the Constitution of India is hereby abolished.
3. Repeal.
Statutory text
The Punjab Abolition of Whipping Act, 1957 (Punjab Act 25 of 1957), in its application to the State of Haryana, is hereby repealed.
