(1) Notwithstanding anything contained in any usage, settlement, grant, agreement, sanad, order or other instrument or any law for the time being in force, the Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, declare that as from such date as may be specified in the notification all the rights of a Girasadar or a Barkhalidar in the estates or parts thereof shall be acquired and vest in the Government. (2) The notification issued under subsection (1) shall be sufficient notice to the Girasadar or Barkhalidar concerned. (3) On the date specified in the notification— (i) the rights of the Girasadar or Barkhalidar in the estate or part thereof as the case may be, shall be extinguished and shall vest in the Government; (ii) all arrears of land revenue due from the Girasadar or Barkhalidar for the period prior to the date on which the estate vests in the Government shall continue to be recoverable from the Girasadar or Barkhalidar and shall without prejudice to any other mode of recovery be recoverable by deduction from the amount of compensation payable to him under this Act.
