Bare Act
The Bombay Police (Gujarat Amendment) Act, 1962
Criminal19626 sections
This law amends the Bombay Police Act of 1951 to regulate the hiring of porters and guides who carry passengers and luggage on hills and mountains. It requires the police to license and control these workers and set fair charges for their labor. The Act also updates police training terminology by changing "school" to "college or school" in several sections. Additionally, it establishes a sixty-day deadline for filing appeals against police orders and grants higher police officials the power to review and modify decisions made by lower officers to ensure legality and proper procedure.
