The Bombay Cinemas (Regulation) (Gujarat Extension and Amendment) Act, 1961
General19619 sections
This Act extends the Bombay Cinemas (Regulation) Act, 1953 to the whole of Gujarat, replacing local laws in Saurashtra and Kutch. It amends licensing rules to give the State Government greater control, ensuring licenses can only be revoked after a chance to be heard. The legislation also establishes new appeal and revision procedures, allowing affected parties to challenge licensing decisions and empowering the government to delegate these powers to a Commissioner, thereby streamlining regulation across the state.
