Register of marriages.

(1) The Registrar shall maintain a register of marriages contracted in the State in such form and in such manner as may be prescribed. On receipt of the memorandum of marriage under section 5 or 6, the Registrar shall file the same in the register and shall send the duplicate copy thereof to the Registrar-General.

(2) On registration of the marriage, the Registrar shall issue a certificate of registration of marriage to the parties in the prescribed form.
