Bare Act
The Gujarat Professional Civil Engineers Act, 2006
The Gujarat Professional Civil Engineers Act, 2006 establishes a statutory regulatory framework for civil engineering practitioners across the State of Gujarat. It creates the Gujarat Council of Professional Civil Engineers to oversee professional standards, maintain an official public register, and enforce ethical codes of conduct. Under this law, no individual can practice or hold themselves out as a professional civil engineer without valid registration with the Council. Existing engineers are granted a transition period to seek registration. The law protects citizens from unqualified engineering services by establishing disciplinary procedures for misconduct and penalizing unlawful practice with fines or imprisonment.
