Power to declare controlled areas.

1. (1) The State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, declare any area in which the cultivation of any variety of cotton is, in its opinion, undesirable, to be a controlled area for the purposes of this Act.
2. (2) The notification under sub-section
3. (1) shall specify the variety of cotton or varieties of cotton, the cultivation of which is prohibited in the controlled area, and such variety or varieties are referred to in this Act as "prohibited variety of cotton".
