The Goa [Extension of Electricity (Supply) Act] Act, 1995

This Act extends the Electricity (Supply) Act of 1948 to the State of Goa, giving the state the legal authority to govern the production and distribution of electricity within its borders. By bringing these national laws into effect, old rules previously operating in Goa are replaced by the standardized national framework. Crucially, the Act preserves all past legal rights, ongoing proceedings, and penalties so that existing projects and contracts are not disrupted, while ensuring that actions taken under old laws can continue unless they contradict the new extended national legislation.
