In pursuance of directions issued by the Govt. of India, Ministry of Agriculture, New Delhi and in exercise of powers conferred by Section 28(1) read with Section 4(1) and 4(2) (c) of the Goa, Daman & Diu Marine Fishing Regulation Act, 1980 ( No. 3 of 198 1 ) and read with amended Daman & Diu Marine Fishing (Amendment) Regulation ( No.2 of 2010), the Administrator of Daman & Diu is hereby pleased to revise the Uniform color coding of Fishing Vessels ( registered ) in the U. T. of Daman & Diu . All the Fishing vessel i.e. Non-Mechanised, Mechanised withlwithout cabin shall have uniform color coding, Display of Registration No. and Name and Hoisting of Flag as following with immediate effect :-

1. (a) Upper side wooden Deck & Plank
2. (b) Lower Wooden Plank 2. On Fishing Vessel Cabin
3. (a) Upper Top with Roof
4. (b) Lower slanting Roof-
5. (c) Support/wooden stand i) Upper Half ii) Lower Half

1. (a) Tip of all Masts

(1) The Government may, by order, regulate, restrict or prohibit— (a) the fishing in any specified area by such class or classes of vessels as may be prescribed; (b) the number of fishing vessels which may be used for fishing in any specified area; (c) the catching in any specified area of such species of fish and for such period as may be specified in the order; (d) the use of such fishing gear in any specified area as may be prescribed. (2) In making an order under this section, the Government shall have regard to the following matters, namely— (a) the need to protect the interests of different sections of persons engaged in fishing, particularly those engaged in fishing using traditional fishing craft such as catamaran, country craft or canoe; (b) the need to conserve fish and to regulate fishing on a scientific basis; (c) the need to maintain law and order in the sea.
