The Wakf (Delhi Amendment) Act, 2006

This Act amends the Wakf Act of 1995 to apply to the National Capital Territory of Delhi. It adds a new section that prevents the offices of Chairperson or members of the Delhi Wakf Board from disqualifying a person from being chosen as a member of the Delhi Legislative Assembly. The law ensures that individuals managing religious endowments can also serve as elected representatives in the state government without facing legal obstacles that would remove them from either position, allowing them to contribute to both areas of public service.
