Bare Act

The Goa, Daman and Diu Laying of Rules Before Legislative Assembly Act, 1980

General19803 rules

This Act mandates that the Government of Goa, Daman, and Diu must submit all rules they create to the Legislative Assembly for review. These rules must be presented for at least fourteen days during a session, allowing the assembly to approve, modify, or reject them. If the assembly does not object, the rules take effect after being published in the Official Gazette. The law also extends this requirement to rules made under Central Acts. This process ensures transparency and democratic oversight, giving the local legislature a chance to check the executive's administrative actions before they become law.
