The Goa, Daman and Diu (Absorbed Employees) Act, 1965
General196522 sections
This Act governs the employment of individuals who worked for the former Portuguese administration in Goa, Daman, and Diu before December 20, 1961. It defines these workers as absorbed employees and grants the government the authority to create rules regarding their recruitment, pay, and working conditions. By establishing a legal framework for these long-serving public servants, the legislation ensures a smooth transition and fair treatment for them as they join the administration of the Union territory or the State of Goa.
