This regulation reorganizes the former Union territory of Goa, Daman and Diu by creating a new State of Goa and a new Union territory of Daman and Diu. It applies to the territories of Daman and Diu districts. The law establishes a Pradesh Council for the new Union territory to assist the Administrator and includes provisions for the disqualification of members. It also amends the First Schedule of the Constitution to reflect these territorial changes, effectively governing the administrative transition and structure of these regions after the appointed day.
