The Contr Act Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu (Amendment) Regulation, 2025

1. (1) This Regulation may be called the Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu (Amendment) Regulation, 2025.
2. (2) It extends to the whole of the Union territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu.
3. (3) It shall come into force on such date as the Administrator may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint.

In the Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Act, 1970 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act), in section 1, in sub-section (4),—

1. (a) in clause (a), for the words “twenty or more workmen”, the words “fifty or more workmen”shall be substituted;
2. (b) in clause (b), for the words “twenty or more workmen”, the words “fifty or more workmen”shall be substituted;
3. (c) in the proviso, for the words“less than twenty”, the words “less than fifty”shall be substituted.

In section 2 of the principal Act, after clause (g), the following clause shall be inserted, namely:—

1. (gg) “State Government” means the Administrator of the Union territory of Dadraand Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu appointed by the President under article 239 of the Constitution;’.
