Statutory text

(1) Whoever, endangers the life of or causes any harm, injury, intimidation, obstruction or hinderance to any medicare service person in the discharge of duty or damage in excess of Rs. 1000/- to any property in medicare service institution, commits an act of violence which shall be an offence under this Act.
(2) Whoever, either by himself or as a member or as a leader of group of persons or organization commits or attempts to commit or abets or incites the commission of offence, shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to three years and shall also be liable to penalty of actual amount of purchase price of medical equipment damaged and loss caused to any property as may be determind by the Competent Court.
