The Chhattisgarh goseva ayog Act, 2004
The Chhattisgarh Goseva Ayog Adhiniyam, 2004 establishes a dedicated state commission, the Chhattisgarh Goseva Ayog, to oversee the protection, welfare, and scientific management of agricultural cattle across Chhattisgarh. It applies to all charitable cattle institutions, including Goshalas, Goshadans, Pinjrapoles, and Gorakshan Sansthans, requiring them to register with the Ayog and maintain audited accounts. For the ordinary citizen and cattle owner, the law promotes indigenous cattle breeding, improves fodder production, and empowers designated officers to inspect institutions, rescue cattle illegally transported for slaughter, and initiate criminal proceedings against offenders under applicable animal protection laws.
