Penalty for owning or keeping gambling house

Penalty for owning or keeping gambling house:

1. (1) Whoever, being the owner or occupier or having the use of any house, room, tent, enclosure, vehicle, vessel or place, keeps or keeps or uses or knowingly or willfully permits the same to be occupied, kept or used by any other person as a gambling house or for the purpose of gambling, shall, on conviction, be punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to three years and shall also be liable to fine which shall not be less than fifty thousand rupees but which may extend to five lakh rupees.
2. (2) Whoever is found in any gambling house, provided for in sub-section (1), for the purpose of gambling, shall, on conviction, be punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to one year and shall also be liable to fine which may extend to fifty thousand rupees.
