Provided that, on the death of the democracy fighter, the spouse, and in the absence of the spouse, the unmarried daughter or daughters of the democracy fighter shall be entitled to the Samman Nidhi.

1. (1) Every person eligible for Samman Nidhi under section 3 shall apply for the same to the Collector of the District in which he/she resides, in such form and in such manner as may be prescribed.
