The Bihar Public Safety (Measures) Enforcement Act, 2024
The Bihar Public Safety (Measures) Enforcement Act 2024 legally requires owners of crowded venues, such as markets, malls, and transit hubs in Bihar, to install security equipment like CCTV cameras and access controls. These businesses must also store video footage for at least 30 days to allow security agencies to access it when needed. To oversee these requirements, the State Government will establish Public Safety Committees to identify high-risk locations, inspect premises, and issue directives for safety measures. The law aims to actively enhance public security in densely populated areas by mandating private businesses take responsibility for the safety of their customers and visitors.
