This Act amends the Bihar Panchayat Raj Act of 2006 to change how the Executive Officer for a Panchayat Samiti is appointed. Previously, the government could appoint any officer not below the rank of Deputy Collector. Now, the government must specifically appoint the Block Development Officer to this role. This change simplifies the administrative process for local self-government bodies in Bihar, ensuring that the Block Development Officer, who is already involved in development work, takes on the executive responsibilities for the Panchayat Samiti.
