Short title, extent and commencement

(1) This Act may be called the Bihar Agriculture Land (Conversion for Non-Agriculture Purposes) Act, 2010. (2) It shall extend to the whole State of Bihar, except any area constituted as a city under the Bihar Municipal Act, 2007 or any part thereof, or any area falling under a Cantonment. The extent of this Act shall be same as provided in the Bihar Tenancy Act, 1885. Explanation: This Act shall not, to any extent, apply to the agriculture land included in such area which has been notified as commercial, industrial or city area by the publication of a Master Plan or by any other law. (3) It shall come into force on such date as the Government may, by notification, appoint.
