The Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement (Assam Amendment) Act, 2024

Short title, extent and commencement

1. (1) This Act may be called the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement (Assam Amendment) Act, 2024.
2. (2) It extends to the whole of the State of Assam.
3. (3) It shall come into force on such date as the State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint.

Amendment of section 105 In the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013 (Central Act No. 30 of 2013), hereinafter referred to as the principal Act, in section 105, in sub-section (3), after the words "the same shall be applicable to land acquisition under the enactments specified in the Fourth Schedule to this Act," the words "except for the provisions relating to compensation and rehabilitation and resettlement" shall be inserted.

-1 3. Amendment of the Fourth Schedule. In the principal Act, in the Fourth Schedule, after serial number 13 and the entries relating thereto, the following serial numbers and entries shall be inserted, namely:- "14.
