The North Eastern Regional Institute of Management (NERIM) University Act, 2025

(1) This Act may be called the North Eastern Regional Institute of Management (NERIM) University, Act, 2025. (2) It extends to the whole of Assam. (3) It shall come into force at once.

(1) For furthering the advancement of learning and prosecution of higher education and research, a Private University under the name and style "North Eastern Regional Institute of Management (NERIM) University" shall be established in the State of Assam. (2) The details regarding name, location, jurisdiction and infrastructure of the said University are mentioned in the Schedule appended to this Act.

Whereas it is expedient to establish a Private University under the name and style "North Eastern Regional Institute of Management (NERIM) University" under section 6 of the Assam Private Universities Act, 2007 and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto. It is hereby enacted in the Seventy-sixth Year of the Republic of India as follows :-

Details regarding name, location, jurisdiction and infrastructure belonging to the NERIM University as envisaged under section 6 of the Assam Private Universities Act, 2007. 1. Name of the University: NERIM University (Sponsored by NERIM Educational Society, Parukutty Bhawan, Nabin Nagar, Guwahati-781024.) 2. Location of the University: The University Campus is located at North Guwahati, village- Ghorajan, under Sila Sindurighopa Mouza, under Kamrup (M) District, Pin-781101 with its headquarter at Padma Nath Sarmah Bhawan, Jayanagar, Khanapara, Dag No- 1057,1058 & 1059, under Beltola Mouza, Guwahati - 781022. The Constituent Unit of the University shall be the following, namely :- (i) Guwahati, Parukutty Bhawan, village- Japorigog 1, Nabin Nagar, Dag No- 1147 (Dr. Anita Baruah Sarmah College of Education), under Beltola Mouza, Guwahati- 781024. (ii) Mangaldai, Joynagar, village- Gerimari Chapori, [Mangaldai District Rural Computer Center (MDRCC) Campus and Mangaldai Maharshree Vidyalaya Campus], Dag No- 22, under Ronga Mati Mouza, Mangaldai- 784125. (iii) Sipajhar, Village- Dakhinsuburi, Dag No- 279 , under Hindughopa Mouza, Sipajhar-784145 with extension center at village- Chutiya Kata, Dag No- 240 under Lokrai Mouza, Sipajhar, Darrang, Assam. 3. Jurisdiction: Extending over the State of Assam with its constituent unit at Guwahati, Mangaldai and Sipajhar. 4. Endowment Fund: Rs. 2.5 Cr (Rupees Two Crores Fifty Lakhs) 5. General Reserve Fund: Rs. 15 Cr (Rupees Fifteen Crores) including Working Fund. 6. Infrastructure: (1) Land: 138 Bighas 11 Lessas of Land including -75 Bighas of Land at Campus located at North Guwahati, Village- Ghorajan, under Sila Sindurighopa Mouza, under Kamrup (M) District, Pin-781101. Built-up area: Total Constructed Built-up area is 3,73,375.45 Sq.ft (34,687.7 Sq.M) including 66,000 Sq.ft under construction at North-Guwahati Campus. However, in Beltola Campus i.e. (Headquarter) in a single Campus there are 1,78,250 Sq.ft i.e. 16,560 Sq.M at Jayanagar, Khanapara with multistoried buildings consisting of,- (a) Seven numbers of Academic Blocks; (b) Two numbers of Administrative Blocks. (2) Classrooms, Computer Lab, Furniture and Other Equipments (i) 120+ class rooms including 97 air conditioned rooms which are fully furnished and well equipped with modern technologies like LCD projectors and sound systems upgraded to Smart Classrooms; (ii) Two numbers of auditoriums, each with seating capacity of over 500; (iii) Six numbers of State of Art Computer labs; (iv) 627 Desktop PCs; (v) One Server and Updated Licensed Software; (vi) Ten UPS which includes two nos. of 20 KVA UPS and two nos. of 10 KVA Online UPS; (vii) Dedicated Leased Lines 100 mbps from BSNL for Internet Connection; (viii) Dedicated Leased Lines 10 mbps from JIO for Internet Connection; (ix) Printers in every Department; (x) Laptops for all teachers; (xi) Xerox Machine in every Department; (xii) Conference Round Table; (xiii) Faculty Rooms; (xiv) Central Library; (xv) Research Rooms; (xvi) Long and spacious Verandahs in each floor; (xvii) Students' Lobby in each floor; (xviii) Staircases in each floor; (xix) Three Elevators; (xx) Seven Nos. of Transformers; (xxi) 16 nos. of Vehicles including staff bus-1, College bus- 10, Officers' vehicle-5; (xxii) 3 Girls' hostels with intake capacity of 300 students; (xiii) 3 Boys' hostels with intake capacity of 200 students. (3) Library, Books and Journals: One Central Library at Beltola Center with a seating capacity of 200 and is well-stocked with 78,909 books and over 38,000 E-Journals from services like EBSCO, JGATE, IEEE, and LEXIS NEXIS with worth more than Rs. 15 Lakhs (Rupees Fifteen Lakhs). Apart from the Central Library, there are separate Library for Commerce College, Dr. ABS College of Education, Sipajhar B.Ed College and Mangaldai Challenge Academy. (4) Existing Institutes/Departments: (i) NERIM College of Management (Department of Business Administration); (ii) NERIM College of Computer Science (Department Of Computer Science); (iii) NERIM College of Social Science (Department of Social Works); (iv) Department of Psychology; (v) NERIM Law College; (vi) NERIM Commerce College; (vii) Dr. Anita Baruah Sarmah College of Education; (viii) NERIM Challenge Academy (NCA); (ix) NERIM Institute of Research and Development (NIRD); (x) Sipajhar B.Ed College; (xi) Mangaldai District Rural Computer Center (MDRCC); (xii) Mangaldai Maharshree Vidyalaya (A Senior Secondary School Sponsored and promoted by NERIM with a provision for upgrading to a Institute for Higher Education). (5) Sports and Recreation: The NERIM Educational Society has provisions for sports facilities, including: (i) A Table Tennis room; (ii) A Badminton Court; (iii) A Volleyball Court; (iv) Other indoor games facilities; (v) Football Field. (6) Power Backups and Solar Rooftop Panel: Power Backups with 6 Nos. of DG sets (i) 1 No. of Genset of 250 kVA; (ii) 2 No. of Genset of 125 kVA each; (iii) 1 No. of Genset of 58.5 kVA; (iv) 2 No. of Genset of 10 kVA; (v) Rooftop Solar Panels with generating capacity of 20,000 unit of power.
